Troop 439 has been an institution in the life of the Bahama community since the 1940s. Headquartered with our institutional sponsors, the Bahama Ruritan Club, Troop 439 has a long and distinguished tradition of raising the boys of Bahama, NC, to become stalwart pillars of the community and leaders in their own right. Troop 439 has a legacy of promoting traditional Scouting values, emphasizing community service and pursuing an active outdoor program. You will frequently see our scouts assisting with local community events, including Bahama Day, the Rougemont Easter Parade, the Bahama Christmas Parade, and other important occasions.
Troop 439 meets every Monday night at the Bahama Ruritan Club at 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Every meeting is open to boys between 11 and 18, interested in joining our grand adventure. While currently a small rural troop, that provides for additional support, comradery, and individual attention that is sometimes a challenge in larger troops. And the rural character of Troop 439 encourages an enthusiastic program of frequent camping, hiking, and other activities.
On behalf of the scouts of Troop 439, both past and present, I invite you to participate in the future of this prestigious troop. Focusing on the Scout Law and the Scout Oath as our guiding principles, we are proud to be raising the next generation of leaders in the Bahama and Rougemont communities.
